ZAGREB, Jan 30 (Hina) - "Higher Wages to Scientists," is a front-
page headline of today's VJESNIK for a report on a press-briefing
of Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa on the 1996 budget, which he held
yesterday.
The daily publishes a report of the Croatian Commission for
Missing Persons and POW Exchange.
Writing about a visit of Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic
to London a correspondent, Jasna Zanic Nardini, says that the tour
of Mr. Granic happened at the moment of a gradual rise in the
British-Croatian relations. She added that Granic and his British
guests would not only discuss the promotion of the bilateral
relations but also the admittance of Croatia into European
integration processes.
On the front-page the other daily VECERNJI LIST also reports
on the Government's announcement on budget items.
"Metamorphoses of David Owen," is a headline of a comment
piece by a daily columnist, Milan Jajcinovic, who writes about the
British diplomat's lecture on prospects of peace in former
Yugoslavia at the United Nations in New York recently.
A correspondent Nenad Ivankovic writes about a Serb officer
who is willing to give testimony to crimes of Bosnian Serb leaders
Karadzic and Mladic, at the International War Crimes Court in the
Hague.
The daily carries an interview with a Serb Orthodox priest,
Danilo Ljubotin, who lives in Pula.
VECERNJI LIST publishes a report on yesterday's tour of US
Ambassador Peter Galbraith and a Croatian vice premier, Borislav
Skegro, to Zupanja and IFOR troops.
