MOSTAR'S WEU POLICE PRESENT FINDINGS OF INVESTIGATIONS

MOSTAR, Jan 26 (Hina) - The West European Union police on Friday presented results of an investigation into incidents which occurred in the southern Bosnian town of Mostar at the beginning of this month. Mostar's WEU police chief, Pieter Lanbrechse told a press conference that the January 1 killing of a 17-year-old Moslem youth still had not been solved but that Croat police in west Mostar had handed over the weapons of the Croat officers inolved in the incident for a ballistic investigation. Speaking of an incident which took place on January 4 when two Moslem policemen were wounded, Lanbrechse said that it was most likely that fire had been opened from west Mostar. All evidence from this incident had been sent to German for further analysis. Lanbrechse said that WEU police had traced an assailant who shot and killed a Croat police officer on January 6. The investigation reveleaded that the Croat policeman had been attacked from Moslem-held east Mostar, he said, adding that the case was handed over to the Moslem police in east Mostar.
