ZAGREB, Jan 14 (Hina) - Representatives of the centre for the
protection of rights of imprisoned and abducted Croatian citizens
and members of their families, 'Apel', yesterday gave to members of
U.S. President's delegation an appeal, asking from President

statement from 'Apel' said tonight. #L#
'Although the visit was short and the official protocol did
not allow our meeting with President Clinton, we wanted to meet the
American President and inform him about the suffering of the
Croatian people who still know nothing about the destiny of their
dearest ones, who were imprisoned, abducted or went missing during
the Serbian aggression in autumn, 1991', the statement said.
'Apel' representatives handed over to members of President
Clinton's delegation an album with pictures of missing Croatian
citizens. They had promised to give it to President Clinton in the
plane, the statement said, adding that 'Apel' representatives had
also talked to General Shalikashvilli and Congressman Robert L.
Livingston and shaken hands with President Clinton, who promised
that he would do something to help find the truth about the fate of
imprisoned, abducted and missing Croatian citizens.
The 'Apel' delegation had also given to President Clinton the
books 'Hunger Strike' and 'Where Are Our Dearest Ones?', the
statement, signed by the head of the Centre, Zdenka Farkas, said.
