IFOR could not confirm whether that piece of information was
true, but IFOR officials were pressuring the Bosnian Serb military
and civil authorities to release all prisoners.
French soldiers in the multinational division for Sector
South-East were still patrolling the Sarajevo area by foot. That
decision would not be changed even after yesterday's wounding of an
IFOR soldier, who stepped on a mine during one of such beats. So
far, IFOR had only taken additional safety measures, Pernod said.
At the same time, French troops were deploying deeper into the
territory under Serb control. A smaller NATO troop was currently
located in the town of Trnovo, some 30 km south of Sarajevo and one
French troop had been sent to Ulog and Kalinovik each.
