ZAGREB, Dec 31 (Hina) - The Croatian Government decided that
neither custom fees nor value added tax, which comes into effect
January 1, 1998, will be charged for imported goods under about
US$50 (300 Croatian kunas), Croatian Finance Minister Borislav
Skegro told Hina Tuesday after a closed Government session.
To date custom fees were not charged for imported goods costing up
to US$100.
The Government also reached a decision under which returnees-
immigrants will be freed from paying value added tax on personal
belongings, furniture, and other house equipment which they have
been in possession of before moving or returning to Croatia, Skegro
said.
