GOVT TO SOLVE HOUSING PROBLEMS OF 6000 DISPLACED FAMILIES

( Editorial: --> 9386 ) ZAGREB, 18 Dec (Hina) - The Croatian Government confirmed a new, integral bill on the Government at a session held in Zagreb on Thursday. The most important news in the bill is that the Government can relieve mayors and heads of towns and municipalities of their duties if they violate legal regulations frequently. Reconstruction and Development Minister Jure Radic said that housing problems of 6,000 displaced families would be solved in 1997 and 1998, and 1,700 of them would receive loans. The Reconstruction and Development Ministry would continue the program of construction of houses for 100%-disabled Homeland war veterans, Radic added. (hina) jn rm 181736 MET dec 97
