RECONSTRUCTION PROGRESSES SUCCESSFULLY IN LIKA-SENJ COUNTY

( Editorial: --> 1561 ) GOSPIC, Dec 30 (Hina) - The year about to end has been marked by successful reconstruction in several municipalities, towns and villages in Lika-Senj County which were directly hit by war destruction. More than 1000 family homes are being reconstructed and built in Gospic, Otocac, Perusic, Licki Osik, Bilaj and Brinje. At the same time several villages have seen the repair of damage to school buildings, building of transmission lines and waterworks, installation of new public lighting and the introduction of telecommunication systems. Several public and commercial buildings were reconstructed this year. In the county seat of Gospic about to be finished is the reconstruction of the Palace of Justice, the student dormitory, health centre buildings and the town hospital. A small brewery in Pazarista and some other production plants are being built by Croatian returnees from abroad. The County Office for Reconstruction is preparing documentation for continuing reconstruction works in spring. Reconstruction in a large number of settlements should be finished in 1998. It is expected that works will continue on a large number of religious buildings and communal infrastructure.
