HEAD OF CROATIAN NEGOTIATION TEAM SPEAKS ABOUT SUCCESSION

( Editorial: --> 9937 ) BELGRADE, Dec 20 (Hina) - All assets of the former Yugoslav People's Army (JNA), including armament, buildings and all the rest, should be an issue of succession, and the embassies of the former Yugoslavia should be classified according to value and importance and fairly distributed among the countries of the former republic, head of the Croatian negotiation team for issues of succession, Bozidar Marendic, told Belgrade's "Dnevni Telegraf" daily on Saturday. "Croatia requests that every country of the former Yugoslavia be allocated its part of the total worth of the JNA. In the process, the part of arms destroyed during the most recent war will not be taken into consideration, but the preceding status will be assessed. The party responsible for the war, and it is well known who sowed destruction over Croatia, will have to compensate for what had been destroyed. The issue of war damage is also important and it needs to be discussed," Marendic said. "The stern and not one milimetre flexible stance of the Yugoslav team for issues of succession causes most damage to Yugoslavia itself. Besides Bosnia-Herzegovina, the money is now most necessary to Yugoslavia. This is why their procrastination with the succession is a suicidal act," Marendic said. (hina) lm 201638 MET dec 97
