MACEDONIAN PARLIAMENT DELEGATION VISITS ZAGREB

( Editorial: --> 6807 ) ZAGREB, Dec 8 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on Monday received a delegation of the Macedonian Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee headed by its chairwoman Ilinka Mitrova, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Granic informed the Macedonian delegation about the current political situation in Croatia, stressing the importance of the timely and successful termination of the UNTAES mandate on January 15 next year, as had been proposed in a report by the UN Secretary General. The two sides said that both political and economic relations between Croatia and Macedonia were very good. Granic said there was room for improving economic cooperation, adding that an important step in that direction would be the signing of a bilateral agreement on property relations. The Macedonian delegation also visited the Croatian Parliament where they met Parliamentary Speaker Vlatko Pavletic and members of the Foreign Relations Committee, headed by its chairman Zarko Domljan. Mitreva told reporters after the talks that they discussed in detail the domestic policies of the two countries and their environs. We determined that we shared views on Euro-Atlantic integration processes, good neighbourly relations and stability in the region, she added. Both delegations expressed support for the Dayton peace agreement. It was said that Croatia and Macedonia shared views on the succession process of the former Yugoslavia.
