HEAD OF U.S. MISSION MEETS IBRAHIM RUGOVA

( Editorial: --> 6037 ) PRISTINA, 4 Dec (Hina) - The head of the US mission in Belgrade Richard Miles and his associates on Thursday held talks with the President of the Democratic Union of Kosovo, Ibrahim Rugova. Miles called on all sides to show restraint and prevent the situation in Kosovo from escalating. Miles expressed the concern of the US government over the latest developments in Kosovo and confirmed the view of his government that the situation should be solved in a peaceful way, Kosovo Information Centre reported. The situation in Kosovo had been worsened by the latest wave of violence of Serbian authorities, Rugova said, calling on the United States to finally "take the leading role in solving the situation in Kosovo".
