PLITVICKA JEZERA, Nov 16 (Hina) - Following a two-day working
meeting of representatives of Croatian local television stations
in the "Plitvice" hotel at Plitvice Lakes, the president of the
newly-established 'National Association of Croatian Television
Stations', Zvonimir Kabelka, and the president of the
association's supervisory board, Miljenko Vinkovic, held a news
conference on Sunday.
According to Kabelka, there are 10 local television stations in
Croatia.
Speaking of the aims of the association, Kabelka said that it should
help solve several problems which local television stations faced
in their work.
The association should adopt a joint stand on the concessions as the
Croatian telecommunications council imposed the highest
concessions in Europe, Kabelka and Vinkovic told reporters.
The association would work on improving working conditions of local
televisions stations as well.
Kabelka added that seven television stations - ATV Split, TV Zadar,
TV Nova Pula, TV Moslavina from Kutina, TV Cakovec, Vinkovacka
Television and the Independent Istrian Televisions from Pazin -
were included in the association.
Three television stations - OTV, Slavonska Television and
Television Marjan - did not join the association as leaders of these
stations had different views on certain parts of the association's
statute regarding the financing.
