PAKRAC, Oct 19 (Hina) - UN special rapporteur for human rights
Elizabeth Rehn on Sunday visited Pakrac, western Slavonia, where
she held talks about the situation in the area with the town's
authorities.
The talks focused on issues related to the local Serb
population, among whom are many returnees with whom Rehn spoke as
well.
According to the UN rapporteur, the returnees are satisfied
with security in the area and feel safe, but expect more
assistance in the reconstruction and getting jobs.
The solving of issues related to returnees is progressing
well, Rehn said.
She added that mine-clearing in the area was rather slow,
which caused difficulties to farmers.
