SARAJEVO, Oct 14 (Hina) - UN special rapporteur for human rights
Elisabeth Rehn on Tuesday voiced deepest concern over the terrorist
attack on the Catholic School Centre in Sarajevo which occurred
early in the morning last Saturday.
The attack on a school can be interpreted only as an attack on
the basic human rights of Bosnian citizens, Rehn said in a statement
read to reporters by Aleksandar Ivanko, a UN spokesman in Sarajevo.
The Catholic School Centre is an institution which promotes
multi-ethnic culture and respects national values and tradition,
Rehn pointed out.
She said in her statement she was aware of the fact that such
attacks were planned and aimed at disintegrating Bosnia-Herzegovina
and deepening the divide among its citizens.
Rehn called on Bosnian authorities to do everything to stop
terrorist attacks and to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators.
She voiced support for all who, despite hardships, are
building a society that will respect everybody's human rights.
