During his visit to Vienna, Matesa held talks with the
Austrian Chancellor Viktor Klimo about political and economic
issues of multilateral and bilateral significance.
The importance of these talks were in the fact that Austria
was taking over chairmanship at the European Union next year,
Matesa said upon returning to Zagreb.
During a presentation of Croatia's banking, organised in
Frankfurt by the German Bank 'Deutche Bank' and in Vienna, by
'Bank Austria', business people were introduced to opportunities
of direct foreign investments.
Such investments presented a new quality of relations and
were of great benefit for Croatia's economy, Matesa said.
Accompanying Matesa were the Croatian National Bank's
governor, Marko Skreb, and Economy Minister Nenad Porges.
