Reporters were given copies of a Movement statement saying
that "the handing-over of ten citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina -
war crimes indictees, including a former president of the Bosnian
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), to the Hague Tribunal,
represents the break-down of a policy which started by disputing
the inviolability of internationally recognised borders, then
became involved in a conflict with Muslims, after which the
victims - Croats and Muslims - were put on the same level as the
Serb aggressor".
The statement, signed by the Movement president, Ivan
Supek, said that all indicators spoke of a constant and deepened
economic crisis which can no longer be justified, nor hidden
behind the Homeland war.
Recently discovered political and economic scandals
"underline the urgency of de-politicising the judiciary, police
and army and of the establishment of independent and free media,
especially Croatian Radio and Television," the statement said.
