ZAGREB, Oct 16 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman received a
delegation of the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development
(HBOR) on Thursday on the occasion of the Bank's fifth anniversary
of work, the President's Office said in a statement.
Borislav Skegro, president of the Supervisory Board, and Anton
Kovacev, president of the Management Board, said that the Bank's
original capital was created from the state budget.
Besides financing reconstruction projects, the aim of the Bank
is also to finance small and medium-size enterprises and exporters,
they added.
Expressing satisfaction with the Bank's successful
performance, Tudjman welcomed the Bank's policy of financing the
production sector, particularly small and medium-size enterprises,
at lower interest rates than commercial banks.
Attending were Presidential Chief of Staff Hrvoje Sarinic,
Chief Economic Adviser Pero Jurkovic and Home Policy Adviser Ivic
Pasalic.
The HBOR delegation included members of the Management Board
Marija Kolaric and Kresimir Leko, the statement concluded.
