MOSTAR, Sept 19 (Hina) - A Croat delegation from both houses of
the parliament of the Bosnian Federation on Friday visited the
site of an explosion which took place in the centre of Mostar
last night, Bosnian Croat news agency Habena reported.
The Croat representatives condemned the explosion. In a
joint statement issued to reporters, they expressed concern and
fear that this terrorist act was a continuation of terrorism
against Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina, aimed at undermining the
Dayton and Washington accords.
Croatian Ambassador to BH Darinko Bago recalled that five
Bosnian Croats died as a result of terrorist acts in the last few
months. Yesterday's explosion was the culmination of such terror,
he added. "The international community and those who may
contribute to the stabilization of the situation in BH, and in
Mostar in particular, should take firmer steps in preventing
terrorism", the ambassador said.
This evening, Croat officials in the government of the
Herzegovina-Neretva Canton held a special session on account of
yesterday's explosion. They strongly condemned this act of
terrorism against defenseless civilians and housing buildings.
They expressed compassion for the victims and their families, and
thanked the town's residents for their calm and dignified
behaviour during those difficult moments.
