CROATIAN GOVT CALLS ON MEDIA TO CONTRIBUTE TO RESTORATION OF TRUST

ZAGREB, Oct 14 (Hina) - The Croatian government called on the Croatian media on Tuesday to contribute to the restoration of trust among all citizens of Croatia, the government's communications office said in a statement. The government also appealed to the Croatian Journalists' Society to use its authority and influence with its membership to participate in the implementation of the programme on the establishment of trust, which the government adopted at a session on October 2. The government recommended in its programme that the media promote an atmosphere of tolerance and coexistence. Noting that in that regard the responsibility of journalists was great, the statement said that the achievement of that goal was vital for the development of Croatia and the further confirmation of its reputation as a member of the international community.
