During the talks, Rasmussen, whose country presides over the
Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), hailed
the most recent steps Croatia had taken in its support of the peace
process in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Tudjman stressed that the recent departure of ten indicted
Croats from Bosnia-Herzegovina to The Hague was not the result of
pressures on Croatia, but rather the result of Croatia's consistent
peace-making policy and the received guarantee that the trials would
begin within the shortest period of time possible.
Tudjman and Rasmussen agreed that a solution was possible for
Bosnia only through a consistent implementation of peace agreements
reached in Dayton and Washington.
The Danish Prime Minister said that Denmark and the whole
international community were counting on Croatia's positive role in
the peace process, stressing that the development of relations
between the European Union and Croatia would depend on Croatia's
efforts in the implementation of the Dayton Agreement.
