AGREEMENT REACHED TO OVERCOME TENSION IN DRVAR

DRVAR, Oct 8 (Hina) - Representatives of the international community in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the municipal authorities of Drvar, western BH, on Wednesday signed an agreement on overcoming tension in Drvar at a meeting called on the occasion of an incident which took place yesterday evening when a commissioner of the Herzeg-Bosna cantonal government for Drvar was physically attacked by members of the NATO-led Stabilization Force. The agreement, signed by representatives of the international community, the deputy commissioner for the Drvar municipality, Drago Tokmakcija, and the head of the Drvar police, Ivan Jurcevic, envisages that the Drvar police will take control over the village of Martin Brod, where the incident took place, and will guarantee security to all persons, that the SFOR check-points at a road to Martin Brod will be removed 9 October in the morning, that refugees and displaced persons will in the future return exclusively under agreement of all relevant sides, that decisions on temporary accommodation of abandoned houses outside Drvar will be cancelled in case their owners are on the list of returnees. It was also agreed that all returnees must register with the Drvar police, that all will be done for expelled Croats from the Republika Srpska territory, especially from Banja Luka, to be enabled to return, as well as for Croats from central BH and other areas they were forced to flee.
