MAINZ, Oct 6 (Hina) - On the first day of their official visit to
Germany, a Croatian parliament delegation led by speaker Zlatko
Pavletic on Monday met the deputy chairman of the parliament of
Rheinland-Pfalz province, Peter Schuler.
Pavletic thanked Germany for its assistance since Croatia
gained independence as well as for the humanitarian aid the German
people provided during the war in Croatia.
The Croatian delegation later met representatives of political
parties in the provincial parliament, in which the Social Democrats
(SDP) and the Liberals (FDP) have a majority.
They also met provincial premier Kurt Beck with whom they
discussed economic cooperation. It was assessed that additional
efforts should be made to better present investment opportunities in
Croatia in that part of Germany.
On Tuesday, Pavletic was scheduled to meet speaker of the
Rheinland-Pfalz parliament Cristoph Grim. Later in the day, the
Croatian delegation would travel to Bonn to meet speaker of the
federal parliament Rita Sussmuth.
