ZAGREB, Oct 1 (Hina) - A Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister, Ivo
Sanader, on Wednesday held talks with the president of Germany's
academy for security policy, Guenter Joetze.
Sanader and Joetze exchanged opinions on a new security
order in Europe and on the strategy for the expansion of the NATO
and the European Union.
They agreed that political, security and economic
integration processes should be open to cooperation with all
fledgling democracies.
According to a statement issued by the foreign ministry,
Sanader informed the German guest of the current political
developments in the country and of the last stage of the peaceful
reintegration of the Croatian Danube area. Sanader said that the
Croatian Government firmly abode by its decisions and agreements
that help achieve the final goal of restoring Croatian rule in
the eastern part of the country.
Regarding the course of the peaceful reintegration until
now, the Croatian Government made a report on the implementation
of the Letter of Intent forwarded the UN Security Council, he
added.
According to him, since Tuesday Croatian laws, the
Constitution and Constitutional laws have been in force in the
Danube area on the ground of an agreement on reintegration of the
Croatian judiciary.
Joetze said that Croatia was a key factor for security in
the region and voiced hope that by the successful and due
completion of the UN mandate in the Danube area, Croatia would
continue walking on the path toward integration into political
and security EuroAtlanic systems.
