BOSNIAN CROAT OFFICIALS CONDEMN TOMISLAVGRAD EXPLOSION

SARAJEVO, 25 Sept (Hina) - Wednesday night's terrorist attack, which happened at 1.30 am in Tomislavgrad and which damaged the buildings of the local Islamic religious community, is another attack which undoubtedly points to the fact that the recent attacks are not individual cases of violence, but the most severe form of violence, which has one clear political goal - to destabilise the peace in Bosnia-Herzegovina, which has been achieved with great difficulty, said a statement from the office of the Bosnian Presidency member Kresimir Zubak.
#L# I most strongly condemn yesterday's terrorist act, Zubak said, calling on the international community to provide anti- terrorist experts and help the existing police forces in their efforts to prevent terrorism before terrorist acts become more frequent. The President of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bozo Rajic, condemned this morning's terrorist act, which damaged one building of the Islamic religious community and a part of the mosque. "I am disappointed and embittered because the violence is continuing in the Federation," said Rajic. The Croatian Embassy in Sarajevo most strongly condemned the terrorist act and it expected that the perpetrators would be discovered as soon as possible and punished adequately, a statement from the Embassy said. Terrorist acts, regardless of who their targets in Bosnia- Herzegovina are, are calculated actions directed against the peace process and implementation of the Washington and Dayton agreements, and they deserve nothing but the strongest condemnation, said the Embassy's statement. The Federation Vice President Ejup Ganic on Thursday visited Tomislavgrad and the site of last night's explosion. "This act is directed against peace, against all peoples who live here, it is against the Federation," Ganic said, adding that terrorists must be stopped. (hina) mm rm 251943 MET sep 97
