MOSTAR, Sept 14 (Hina) - The SFOR centre for cooperation between the
NATO-led Stabilisation Force, international organisations and local
authorities in Mostar was presented on Sunday to reporters on the
occasion of Bosnia municipal elections.
The purpose of the centre, situated in the command of SFOR
South-East multinational division at the airport of Ortijes, was to
take together decisions on an SFOR intervention in case of serious
incidents during the balloting, the centre's head, General Antionio
Lombardo said.
He added that that centre consisted of SFOR officers and
officials of international police, OSCE, the European Union, the
UNHCR, the High Representative's office, as well as of
representatives of Moslem (Bosniak) and Croat peoples from the
Federation and the Bosnian Serb entity.
According to him, if an intervention was necessary, an SFOR
helicopter would carry to a hot spot SFOR and OSCE members and a
representative of the people that controls the area where the
incident might happen.
The head of the Mostar regional office of the international
High Representative to Bosnia, Martin Garrod said he was pleased
with the support SFOR was offering to his office.
