MOSTAR, Sept 19 (Hina) - Mostar Mayor Ivan Prskalo and the head of
the international high representative's office in Mostar, Martin
Garrod, on Friday held talks about an explosion which took place in
Mostar last night.
The crime occurred at the worst possible moment, Garrod said,
since the situation in Mostar had started getting better. This
latest terrorist act was perpetrated by those who want to
destabilise the situation in the town, he stressed.
It was very important for the police investigation to continue
and for the perpetrators to be arrested and brought to justice,
Garrod pointed out.
This, Garrod added, reminded him of his time in Belfast when
he saw innocent people being victims of such terrorism.
Mayor Prskalo visited the scene of the crime and talked with
the commander of the police and the interior minister. It was too
early to assess the crime, he pointed out.
This was an obvious terrorist attack against the Croat people,
which took place after they had demonstrated their unity and
strength at the recent Bosnian municipal election, Prskalo added.
