Metropolitan Jovan informed Radic about his recent visit to
Dalmatia, and stressed that despite the recent incident in Drnis,
the situation was more and more secure for the Orthodox faithful
in Croatia.
Speaking about the problems regarding assuming ownership of
Serb Orthodox Church property in Croatia, the Metropolitan asked
for the help of the Croatian government in solving these
problems.
Radic informed Pavlovic about the stance of the Croatian
government that the Serb Orthodox Church could freely take over
its church premises, as well as theological schools.
Serb Orthodox priests who lived in Croatia and recognised
Croatia as their country and accepted their rights and duties,
had and would have full freedom of religious work, Radic said.
Regarding property which had been nationalised in the
former state, Radic said that the Serb Orthodox Church would be
in the same position as other religious communities in Croatia.
Radic said the Serb Orthodox Church should take on the care
for its faithful in Croatia and should work on the good and the
reconciliation of all people.
