of the Homeland War. The apartments costing an average of approximately 210,000 kuna per flat, should be completed within a year at the latest.

Minister Jure Radic and representatives of nine building
companies on Friday signed a contract on the construction of 326
apartments in several Croatian towns for victims of the Homeland
War. The apartments costing an average of approximately 210,000
kuna per flat, should be completed within a year at the latest.

Under the care programme for victims of the Homeland War,
homes for 4,326 families had been planned for 1997 and 1998, by
providing 2,270 flats, 1,771 credits and the reconstruction of
150 victims' houses, Radic said, adding that after the completion
of the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area, the
number of houses in need of reconstruction would increase.
Radic expressed confidence that the housing issue for the
most part of the Homeland War victims would be solved by mid-
1998.
