HDZ BH TO TAKE PART IN BOSNIAN MUNICIPAL ELECTION - FROWICK

FROWICK $ ZAGREB, Sept 12 (Hina) - An agreement has been reached on the participation of the Croatian Democratic Union Party of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BH) in the Bosnian municipal election scheduled for 13 and 14 September, the head of the Bosnian mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Robert Frowick, said in Zagreb late Thursday evening. A joint statement on the agreement would be issued Friday, he added. OSCE was willing to consider the complaints stated by the Bosnian Croat side and carry out agreed alterations, Frowick said. The agreement on HDZ BH's participation in the Bosnian election was reached Thursday evening at a two-hour meeting Croatian President Franjo Tudjman held with the international high representative for the implementation of the Dayton peace accord in BH, Carlos Westendorp, his deputy Jacques Klein, Frowick, and a HDZ BH delegation including Kresimir Zubak, Bozo Rajic, Vladimir Soljic and Jadranko Prlic. Also present at the meeting were Tudjman's chief-of-staff Hrvoje Sarinic, Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic, Tudjman's advisors Ivic Pasalic for interior policy and Neven Madey for foreign policy. "Tonight we have once again analyzed the present situation and commonly agreed that solutions could be found to overcome (it)", Zubak said after the meeting, adding most of HDZ BH's complaints had been taken into consideration. "This is an agreement in principle and tomorrow we shall discuss details so that by noon we could have a final agreement", Zubak said. "This means that HDZ BH will alter its decision and take part in the election, as well as call on all its sympathizers, members and those who intended to vote for HDZ BH, primarily the Croat people in BH, to cast their ballots on 13 and 14 September", Zubak concluded.
