The Hypo Alpe-Adria Bank is a respectable Austrian bank, another in a row of successful commercial banks arriving at the more and more attractive Croatian banking market, the Croatian government's Communications Office said in a statement Thursday.

Matesa expressed satisfaction with Thursday's opening of the Hypo
Banka Croatia d.d., a Croatian bank, the branch office of one of the oldest
regional banks in Austria, established in 1896.
The Hypo Banka Croatia will orientate its work towards financing
infrastructure projects and apartment building in Croatia.
Wishing the representatives much success in their work in Croatia,
Matesa stressed that this was another proof of good business cooperation
between Croatia and Austria.
