SPLIT, Sept 2 (Hina) - Croatian customs officials on Monday
caught a man trying to smuggle a large amount of sugar from
Bosnia-Herzegovina into Croatia, police in the southern Adriatic
town of Split said on Tuesday.
The man, identified only as V. M., aged 28, of the
southwestern Bosnian town of Livno, was arrested after a search
of his truck at the Kamensko border crossing found that he was
tranporting 2.5 tonnes of sugar and not firewood as he had
declared. He was also found to be carrying a gun illegaly.
Police said that charges had been pressed against the man
and that his truck had been seized.
