Bukovac visited police stations in Vukovar, Ilok, Beli Manastir and
Dalj which began to issue Croatian documents on Monday, after UNTAES
document offices had been closed on 31 August.
From 1 September, Croatian documents are available in the Croatian
Danubian area in the same places and at the same price as in the rest of
Croatia.
Persons in the Vukovar-Srijem County under UNTAES control will be
able to purchase Croatian documents in the 1st police station in Vukovar
and the 2nd police station in Ilok, while persons in the Osijek-Baranja
County under UN Transitional Administration will have to go to police
stations in Beli Manastir and Dalj.
A total of 140,000 identification cards and 130,000 passports had
been issued in UNTAES document offices, and 55,000 issues of citizenship
had been solved, Bukovac said.
He recalled that all vehicles in the Croatian Danubian area would
have to have Croatian licence plates from 15 September.
Any vehicle without Croatian licence plates would be banned from
traffic.
