TRAVNIK, Aug 31 (Hina) - After the office of the international
representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina yesterday demanded of
Bosniak (Muslim) authorities in Travnik (central BH) to take a
public stand on and apologize for an incident which took Place in
the nearby village of Bukovica on 29 August, when some 200
Bosniaks prevented about 100 Croats from visiting their houses in
the village after four years of exile, the Municipal Committee of
the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in Travnik on Sunday morning
issued a statement on the matter.
The statement the Travnik SDA forwarded to the high
representative's office in Sarajevo, Bosniak media and Croatian
correspondents in BH, points out the party remains dedicated to
the Dayton peace accord and the Constitution, and to everything
leading to the reintegration of BH.
The SDA will fully contribute to the return process, to
Travnik as well as to the Central Bosnia Canton, the statement
points out.
"We call on all residents to assist and support us in these
attempts through their patience, work and reason, so that we may
persevere in this commitment. Of competent state authorities we
expect to carry out an investigation in relation to the event in
Bukovica, and to inform the public about it", the statement by
Travnik's SDA concluded.
