VUKOVAR, 13 Aug (Hina) - The Croatian tax system in the Danube
river region is operational to a large part and it will be fully
operational during September or October, the head of the Croatian
Tax Administration and Assistant Finance Minister Mate Perkovic
stated Wednesday, after visiting tax administration offices in
Beli Manastir and Vukovar.
Returnee employees and 47 local employees have been working
in tax administration offices in Vukovar and Beli Manastir for
two months, Perkovic said, adding that tax administration offices
in the Danube river region were collecting property taxes,
turnover taxes on goods and services import, car taxes, corporate
taxes, municipal, county and state budget taxes and customs
taxes.
All registered entrepreneurs have to pay taxes as well,
Perkovic said adding that the registration of physical and legal
persons was under way.
Speaking about the payment of taxes of large companies such
as Vupik and Borovo, Perkovic said that parts of those two
companies which had been in exile, had paid taxes all the time
and that newly reintegrated parts of the two companies were being
registered.
The financial police for the Croatian Danube river region
were working in exile in Vinkovci and Osijek and would in the
next couple of weeks start operating in the Danube river region,
Perkovic said.
Perkovic and his assistant Josip Lozancic also met with the
