ZAGREB, Aug 1 (Hina) - A Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister, Ivo Sanader,
on Friday received Canadian Ambassador in Zagreb, Donald Smith, the
Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
During the talks Sanader and Smith said that relations between
Croatia and Canada were being developed in a satisfactory manner, and
added that a great number of Croatian emigrants in Canada contributed to
this.
Speaking of the Croatian economy's potential and success of
the Croatian government's programme, Sanader and Smith voiced hope
that bilateral economic ties would be further promoted.
The Canadian Ambassador was interested in Croatian views
on the course and completion of the process of peaceful reintegration of
Croatian Danube river area. Sanader told him that it was a priority of
Croatia's policy until the end of 1997.
The Croatian official and the Canadian Ambassador also
talked about the peace process in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the process of
normalising relations between Croatia and Yugoslavia (Serbia/Montenegro)
and the role of Croatia, as a key factor, in stabilisation of the situation in +
the
