CROATIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY REFUTES SARAJEVO NEWS AGENCY REPORT

ZAGREB, July 1 (Hina) - The Croatian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday issued a statement pertaining to a report of the Sarajevo news agency ONASA, where the foreign affairs advisor of the President of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mirza Hajric, said that the "Interior Minister of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Valentin Coric, did not appear at last Friday's 'last chance' meeting on the establishment of a joint police force in Mostar, because he was at the time on an unofficial visit to the Vatican with Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic". The Croatian Foreign Ministry statement said that "Minister Granic was on an official visit to Italy and the Vatican from 26 to 28 June. In the Vatican, Granic met the Holy Sea State Secretary, Cardinal Angel Sodano. Valentin Coric was not, and could not be in the Croatian delegation". Consistent with information of the Croatian Foreign Ministry, Coric was in the Vatican with Mostar's bishop Ratko Peric, with whom he had an audience with the Holy Father.
