CROATIAN PRESIDENT RECEIVES BOSNIAN CROAT DELEGATION

ZAGREB, June 29 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and senior government officials held a working meeting in Zagreb on Sunday with a delegation of the Croatian people from the Bosnian Federation and Bosnia-Herzegovina, the President's Office said in a statement. The Croatian government delegation included Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa, Presidential Chief of Staff Hrvoje Sarinic, Foreign Minister Mate Granic, Reconstruction and Development Minister Jure Radic, Defence Minister Gojko Susak, Presidential Special Envoy for the Federation and Bosnia-Herzegovina Franjo Greguric and Ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina Darinko Bago. The Bosnian Croat delegation included Kresimir Zubak, Bozo Rajic, Vlado Soljic and Jadranko Prlic. The meeting expressed regrets that the Bosnian Moslem leadership had again postponed a meeting of President Tudjman and Bosnian Presidency Chairman Alija Izetbegovic and representatives of Croatia, the Federation and Bosnia-Herzegovina, which was scheduled to take place tomorrow, June 30, in Split. This third postponement of the meeting and the explanation that has been given shows the unreadiness of the Bosnian Moslem side for the consistent and full implementation of the Washington and Dayton accords because there is much more resistance on their side in solving the problems than on the Croatian. It is not possible to organise the meeting if any conditions are set, and the aim of the meeting was to solve through talks the problems which hamper the implementation of the agreements. Croatia again demonstrated its readiness for full cooperation in implementing the Washington and Dayton agreements with the government decision of June 26 on opening new border crossings with Bosnia- Herzegovina towards the Serb Republic as well as with the fact that Croatia had so far signed 23 agreements with the Federation and Bosnia- Herzegovina. In order to avoid further delays, it was proposed that President Tudjman and Bosnian Presidency Chairman Izetbegovic, as well as the leaders of the Croatian and Bosniac (Moslem) peoples in Bosnia- Herzegovina, meet within the next ten days. It was proposed that on that occasion a binding declaration be signed on the full establishment of cantonal and federal authorities and the consistent and full implementation of the Washington and Dayton accords. A draft declaration will be delivered to the Bosnian Moslem side in two days, the statement concluded. (hina) vm 291509 MET jun 97
