ZAGREB, July 30 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Wednesday received British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook, the president's
Office said in a statement.
Tudjman stressed that Croatia had wanted to achieve a peaceful
resolution to the crisis in the former Yugoslavia, but it had been subjected to
Greater Serbian aggression.
Having defended our sovereignty and independence, today we want
good relations with all neighbours, but as a central European country,
because of negative experiences from the past 70 years, we want no uniting
with Balkan countries, Tudjman said.
Regarding the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Tudjman reiterated
the resoluteness of Croatia to continue its constructive role in the consistent
implementation of the Washington and Dayton Agreements, for which it
needed a greater support and understanding from the international
community.
Regarding cooperation with the Hague tribunal, Tudjman stressed
that Croatia had of all sides showed the most cooperation, but the Tribunal's
approach had to be objective and unbiased.
Present at the meeting were Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic
and the head of the president's cabinet, Gordan Radin.
