The German verification centre had already helped the Croatian
verification centre in organising the reduction of weapons, and would
continue to provide help, the German general said adding that this topic
would be discussed during the visit.
The head of the Croatian army verification centre, Brigadier
General Vinko Stefanek, said that the centre had already carried out 40
various inspections, although it had been established only a year ago.
A member of the Croatian delegation, Lieutenant Zeljko Hosi said
that during today's meeting he would inform the German delegation about
the latest developments in the areas covered by the Dayton agreement
(Croatia, Yugoslavia, the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Republika
Srpska).
"Only several months ago Croatia destroyed completely the set
amount of weapons, becoming the first country to fulfil the part of the
Dayton agreement which refers to that problem, and showing that it
really wants to cooperate," Hosi said.
Hosi also said that the German army had offered education for
several Croatian air force officers in a German air base, in line with
the agreement 'Open Sky'.
