ZAGREB, July 8 (Hina) - Commenting on the failure of Bosnian Moslems and
Croats on Monday to sign an agreement on a joint police force in the
southern Hercegovina-Neretva canton, the leader of the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) party of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bozo Rajic, said on
Monday night that an amendment to the agreement was unnecessary.
"Our cantonal officials today went to the Mostar office of the
international High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina and signed the
offered document. However, they were also offered a three-point
amendment which had never been discussed before. For that reason the
Bosniacs (Moslems) refused to sign and that's the whole truth," Rajic
said in a late night Croatian television news programme.
"That is a totally new fact of which none of us, including (Croat
member of the Bosnian presidency) Mr Zubak, has known anything before.
That is an unnecessary amendment and I think its aim is to exert
further pressure on the Croats in Mostar and the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina," Rajic said, adding that the Moslems' ultimate goal was not
to sign and implement the agreement on joint cantonal police.
