SARAJEVO, June 20 (Hina/Habena/BHP) - UN spokesman in BH Aleksandar
Ivanko on Friday positively assessed yesterday's meeting of top
officials of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton's Interior Ministry, also
attended by representatives of the International Police Task Force, due
to an agreement reached concerning activities to be undertaken in order
to establish a joint cantonal police by 5 July, Bosnian Croat news
agency Habena said on Friday.
The Interior Ministry of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton must start
working by 26 June, Ivanko told reporters in Sarajevo today, adding that
by this time all policemen must have joint identification cards and
uniforms.
Six police departments would be established in the Mostar area on
27 June, while police departments in Rama/Prozor, Konjic and Jablanica
would be established on 2 July, and those in Neum, Stolac, Capljina and
Citluk on 4 July, Ivanko said.
On 7 July the IPTF would start a course for policemen of the
Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Ivanko concluded.
