FAMILIES OF MISSING CROAT SOLDIERS HOLD RALLY IN LIVNO

LIVNO, July 5 (Hina) - Families of abducted Bosnian Croat prisoners of war held a protest rally in Livno (southwestern Bosnia) on Saturday, 1,400 days after the disappearance of 21 soldiers from Bugojno during the time of conflict between Croats and Moslems. The families and Bosnian Croat canton officials forwarded an open letter stressing that the families of the abducted soldiers were not politicians and that it was common sense that the solution to the relations in the Bosnian Federation could not be expected until the problem of abducted and missing persons was solved. The soldiers were being taken from camps and prisons from 1 August till 15 November 1993, and their whereabouts are still unknown. Persons who are responsible and who know the whereabouts of 21 Bugojno war prisoners are currently in leading positions in Bugojno. Use your authority to exert pressure on the leadership of Bugojno so that we may finally find out the truth about our loved ones, the letter said. The letter has been forwarded to the Bosnian Presidency, International Community High Representatives for the civil part of the peace agreement, International Committee of the Red Cross, Commission for Missing Persons and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
