The most important result of today's meeting was a larger number of
received identification protocols on identified and unidentified persons
killed in 1991 in the area of Vukovar, which would help solve a certain
number of cases of missing and imprisoned persons, a statement issued
after the meeting said.
After the protocols are processed, the Croatian Commission for
Imprisoned and Missing Persons will inform the families of missing
persons and associations of families of the missing and imprisoned about
the results.
The two commissions agreed to continue the process of restitution
of personal belongings found with the killed, which according to the
past experience, would facilitate the process of identification of
remains.
The working groups reached agreement on the unconditional delivery,
and taking over of remains of missing persons. The Croatian Commission
demands the delivery of remains of missing and imprisoned persons who
had been buried on the territory of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
The Croatian side again demanded that the fate of imprisoned and
missing Croatian soldiers from Banovina, western Slavonia, Bosanska
Posavina and Kupres be revealed.
The next meeting of the Croatian and Yugoslav working groups will
be held in Belgrade within 30 days at the latest, the statement said.
