Since the establishment of the Canton Interior Ministry, the crime
rate has been decreasing continually. Since the establishment of the
Canton police, 91 criminal acts have been reported, which is less than
in the same period of 1996, the statement said.
There have been considerable achievements in the prevention of drug
production and smuggling, said the statement, commenting on accusations
that Mostar is the centre of drug trade.
"In the period since the establishment of the Canton police, 13 car
thefts have been reported, three of them were fake, which, compared to
other cities which were exposed to war conflicts, and according to our
data, is below the average," the statement said.
