SARAJEVO, 11 June (Hina) - The House of Representatives of the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday adopted a draft budget for
1997 and bills on the buying up of flats with tenancy rights,
restitution and privatisation of companies.

Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) in Bosnia-Herzegovina. #L#
HDZ MP's said they would not participate in the work of the House
of Representatives unless it changed its present way of functioning
which included decision-making by outvoting.
According to the bill which was supported by the majority of MP's
at today's session, the Federation budget should amount to 615 million
German marks, out of which the largest portion would be intended for the
financing of defence and care for soldiers and disabled war veterans.
Despite numerous objections to the bill on the buying-up of flats,
the Federation Government remained by the initial proposal which sets
600 DM as the basic price for one square meter. However, the buying-up
procedure includes various forms of discount, such as years of service
and participation in the war.
According to the bill, only those persons who have permanent
rulings on their tenancy rights will have the right to buy up their
flats.
All bills which are supported by the House of Representatives
become effective only after they have been confirmed by the House of
Peoples as well.
