NEW BUS SERVICES INTRODUCED IN CROATIAN DANUBE AREA

OSIJEK, June 30 (Hina) - Osijek's bus company 'Panturist d.d.' in cooperation with UNTAES, is to introduce new bus lines for the Croatian Danube area as of Monday. Besides restored lines from Osijek via Beli Manastir to Mohacs (Hungary) since December 20, 1996, there will be a new line from Osijek + via Beli Manastir to Batina. Buses will depart from Osijek at 06.00, 09.30 and 16.00 hours every day, and leave Batina at 08.00, 12.00 and 17.45 hours. For the Osijek-Jagodnjak-Beli Manastir line, buses will leave Beli Manastir at 11.00 and 14.30 hours as of Monday, whereas they will depart form Osijek at 12.10 and 15.45 hours. There will be the Jagodnjak-Novi Bezdan-Beli Manastir bus line, and departures from Jagodnjak are at 05.45 hours, and from Beli Manastir at 14.30 hours. The Panturist company will have the Beli Manastir-Branjina-Draz and Beli Manastir-Knezevo-Dubosevica-Draz bus lines as of Monday. According to the company's director, Stjepan Frigan, the network of bus lines, organised in this manner, will meet most of demands for the transport of passengers in the area of Baranja. In case that the number of passengers grows higher in some lines, the number of bus services will be increased for that purpose. As of Monday two new bus lines will connect Osijek with Vukovar and Erdut, after UNTAES has granted permission for those new services. There will be the bus service from Osijek via Klisa to Vukovar. Departures from Osijek are due at 06.30, 09.45, 12.00, 14.00, 15.00 and 16.30 hours, and departures from Vukovar are due at 08.35, 10.45, 13.00, 15.25 and 17.30 hours. Frigan said that as of Monday tickets can be bought at the Vukovar Bus Station. Bus services to big German cities are also ensured for residents of Vukovar and its surroundings, and busses start from Vukovar at 13.00 hours every day. Panturist buses leave Osijek at 07.00, 10.30, 13.10, 15.10 and 17.10 hours travelling via Aljmas and Dalj to Erdut. They return from Erdut at 08.00, 11.30, 14.10, 16.10 and 18.10 hours. Frigan said buses travelling from Osijek to Erdut would stop at all bus stops, and would enter Aljmas. He warned that all passengers had to have Croatian documents and it was strictly prohibited to carry arms, according to a decision of UNTAES. (hina) mš 301225 MET jun 97
