Earlier the Croatian authorities notified the ICRC about the
release of the POWs. Prior to the transfer, the ICRC delegates carried
out private interviews with the released prisoners, who expressed their
willingness to be transferred to Republika Srpska, the statement said.
The POWs had been registered and visited by the ICRC during the
period of their captivity. The ICRC continues to assess the living
conditions and treatment of the remaining POWs still held by the
Croatian authorities, the statement said.
