ZAGREB, 6 June (Hina) - The Croatian Government held a session on the
initiative of the Tourism Ministry on 5 June.
The session tackled the leaflets of the International Committee of
the Red Cross (ICRC) and Croatian Red Cross, which were distributed in
the area of Makarska (central Adriatic). The leaflets warned of the
danger of mines, the Government's office for public relations said in a
statement Friday. #L#
The Government stated it fully understood the protest of tourist
officials, describing the appearance of such leaflets in a tourist area
where there is no danger whatsoever of mines and explosive devices, as
completely unacceptable and extremely damaging for Croatian tourism.
Expressing its protest, the Government asked authorised state
bodies to inform the ICRC and the Croatian Red Cross about the case, so
that similar cases could be prevented, the statement said.
