ZAGREB, June 16 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament House of Counties
continued its second session on Tuesday morning.
The upper house should consider remaining eight items on the
agenda, including a report on the condition, reorganisation,
restructuring and development of the Croatian Railways.
At the very beginning of the second day of the session, deputies
began a debate on a draft bill on amendments to the flats lease law,
which is in the first reading. The bill refers to regulation of the
issue of caretakers' flats. So far, it has been said nowhere that a
caretaker is a tenancy-rights holder and their status has been regulated
in various ways. In Croatia, there are about 260 flats where caretakers
or their families live, and the bill provides that they can pay a
protective rent during ten years.
