Upon their return to Djakovo, Bishop Srakic said that today's mass
was offered at the same time the Peace Train with President Tudjman
aboard arrived in Vukovar. That was another proof that the time of
return had come, Srakic said.
The mass in Ilok was attended by some 200 Croats, for whom 'it is
an encouraging sign since the last six years were extremely difficult
for them', Srakic said.
Archbishop McCarrick promised to inform the U.S. Government and
Church 'about the suffering the Croat people went through', Srakic said.
Srakic and McCarrick Sunday morning conducted a mass in an Eastern-
Rite Catholic church in Miklusevci, which was also attended by the U.N.
Transitional Administrator for Eastern Slavonia, General Jacques Klein.
