MOSTAR, March 11 (Hina) - The head of the Mostar regional office of the
international high representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Martin Garrod, said
on Tuesday that it was very encouraging that the Croat authorities had
arrested the individuals he had denounced in his public statements last
year.
Those arrests would contribute to efforts to alleviate the fears in
Mostar, Garrod told a news conference. He said that the suspension of
several Croat police officers in west Mostar was the first step which should
be followed by legal proceedings against them.
Garrod said he expected that in the next few days the international
police would complete an additional report on events in Mostar of February
10.
Garrod said that the establishment of a joint police force was crucial
for Mostar.
